BRAFA 2026

STAND 119 — January 22 to February 1, 2026

We are honored to present, on the occasion of BRAFA Art Fair 2026, a curated selection of remarkable works by Fernand Léger, Alexander Calder, Victor Vasarely, and Le Corbusier, bringing together modern masterworks across sculpture and Aubusson tapestry.

A central focus of our presentation is La Partie de Campagne by Fernand Léger, a major composition that embodies the artist’s vision of modern life, movement, and monumentality. Through bold contours, primary colors, and rhythmic structuring of the figure, Léger transforms a pastoral subject into a powerful modernist statement. In tapestry form, the work acquires a sculptural physicality, reinforcing Léger’s lifelong ambition to integrate art, architecture, and public space.

Equally significant is Nature Morte by Le Corbusier, where the purist master’s exploration of proportion, structure, and chromatic harmony finds a new material presence in textile. The tapestry extends his pictorial research into spatial and tactile dimensions, reflecting the continuity between his painting, architectural thinking, and the decorative arts — a key dialogue in 20th-century modernism.

Completing this ensemble, the rare Aubusson tapestry Ixe by Alexander Calder translates the artist’s iconic vocabulary of movement, spirals, and balanced forms into the refined medium of French tapestry weaving. The work highlights the meeting point between American modern abstraction and the historic craftsmanship of Aubusson.

Together, these works position Galerie Hadjer’s stand within the lineage of museum-quality modern Aubusson tapestry, where Léger, Le Corbusier, and Calder elevate textile to a major medium of modern art.
